![]() ![]() However, if it jus works out of the box with no tweaking, I'd might end up just sticking with Win10 for the time being. If it is, now it's time to try and remember what you did to make it work and if successful try to apply to a fresh Win11 install. If it were me, and I was like you second guessing if I had this problem with Windows 10 at first as well, I'd probably take some time and revert to Windows 10 and see if the problem is indeed there. ![]() Have you tried unplugging/plugging the firewire back in? Does that seem to help or only way to bring back is full restart? In your case, if it is working but then fails after 5 minutes, it might be loosing connectivity briefly and that is enough for Windows to lose it's shit. Or in other cases, it just doesn't work outright and you get the yellow exclamation point or even worse, doesn't even show up. sometimes it seems fine until random moments and everything goes down the pipes. I have the feeling that I had similar problems "back in the day" with Win10, but I don't remember what the solution was. ![]() Win11 has been reinstalled, but I also tried newer insider releases. But, given that it works for a while, I am reluctant to just say "oh yeah, the driver doesn't work with Win11". Unfortunately, the driver is old and not renewed. It all worked just fine on Win10 with the same hardware. I have not seen anything suspicious in the Event viewer, but maybe I am not looking right. Switching back to my audio interface, everything stops again. Interestingly, when I switch to the onboard sound device, music and video immediately play back again. So the connection between interface and Firewire card seems to be ok, also suggesting that the FW card might not be the problem. Using the native software ( Saffire MixControl), I can mute and activate/deactivate things, which are reflected on the interface (LEDs). The interface can still be addressed, even when the sound is stopped. This can resolved with a restart, but doing that every 5 minutes is not a good solution Windows sounds are gone too, and all other players (think VLC for example) don't do a thing (sound and video). Imagine i watch LTT on youtube and just before Linus drops something at around minute 5, the sound stops (and so does the video). The PC runs a Ryzen 5600X on a B550 board with Windows 11 (21H2 / 22000.194).Įvery 5+ minutes, the sound cuts off. It's a firewire audio-interface that I use on a PCIe FW card with a VIA 6515N chip from Startech. I own a Focusrite Saffire PRO 24 DSP since a bunch of years. Maybe somebody here can help me, I have exhausted my options, and the Windows support has no clue. ![]()
